Helen completed a post as Roy Castle Lung Cancer Clinical Research Fellow between 2020 and 2023. As part of this research she completed the DECLINE project looking at the reasons some people do not receive potentially curative treatment for their lung cancer. She graduated from the School of Lifespan and Population Health, University of Nottingham in 2024, with a PhD entitled 'Factors Surrounding Treatment Decisions in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer'. Prior to this, Helen began training in respiratory medicine in the East Midlands in 2018. She aims to qualify s a consultant with a special interest in lung cancer in 2026
