Since 2005, the UKLCC has worked tirelessly with health professionals, NHS trusts, cancer networks, Royal Colleges and Government to help improve outcomes for UK lung cancer patients.
The UKLCC has been a major driver in encouraging hospitals to submit data for the National Lung Cancer Audit to help drive up best-practice and standards. It has also published a series of high-profile, national reports.
As a result, lung cancer has moved up the Government’s agenda and there have been some real improvements in service provision.
However, we cannot rest on our laurels. There are still wide variations in diagnosis, treatment and access to care across the UK. This is not good enough.
