
Professor Gini Harrison
Gini Harrison is a Professor of Psychology with a long-standing academic career specialising in mental health, technology, and healthcare innovation. Her research focuses on the intersection of psychological wellbeing and digital health, with a strong commitment to improving support for patients and families, promoting early diagnosis, and shaping patient-centred research.
Gini’s involvement in the lung cancer community is both personal and professional. Following her diagnosis with Stage 4 EGFR-positive lung cancer in December 2021, she became a passionate advocate for patients, drawing on her academic expertise to help amplify patient voices and improve quality of life. She is trustee of EGFR Positive UK, where she supports research, awareness, and peer connection for those affected by EGFR+ lung cancer. In addition, Gini works closely with The Ruth Strauss Foundation, contributing to their dual mission of driving research into non-smoking lung cancers, and supporting families facing a cancer diagnosis.
