Established in November 2005 to help to bring lung cancer out of the political, clinical and media shadow the organisation’s long-term vision is to double one year lung cancer survival by 2015 and five year survival by 2020

Lung Cancer is the most common cancer in the world and the second most common cancer in the UK with around 39,000 new cases diagnosed each year.

There are a number of organisations who offer help and advice to patients and carers who have been diagnosed with lung cancer including Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, Macmillan Cancer Supportand Cancer Research UK

The Dream MDT

Today sees the national launch of the UK Lung Cancer Coalition’s ‘Dream MDT for lung cancer’ report.

Developed following an extensive, nationwide consultation across the lung cancer community, it sets out to challenge current lung cancer practices -  and exceed current NICE guidelines - by setting  out 30 ‘aspirational’ but hard-hitting recommendations for lung cancer multidisciplinary teams across the country.
